As much as I dislike waiting for a table, I had heard and seen so many good things about West Juliett that I didn’t mind to stand for a while in the now chilly Sydney weather.
It helps that service is efficient. Soon after we were given a table we were served our long blacks.
Long blacks ($3.5 each)
We shared the grass fed burger that comes with lettuce, cheddar, Dijon, tomato, pickles, mayo and relish, ordered with extra bacon and egg, and gluten-free bread instead of the regular bun. I liked everything about the burger except for the actual patty, which tasted a bit funky to me. The kale, cabbage & mayo side salad was quite nice.
Grass fed burger on GF bread ($16.9), plus egg and bacon ($2.5 each)
We also shared the twelve hour pork with fennel, sharp cabbage, apple, kohlrabi and Parmesan, which was a winner. Great flavour, generous serving, and a piece of crackling, what else can you ask for?
Twelve hour pork ($17.9)
