Review: Meatmother (Richmond, VIC)

The name of this restaurant rocks. It built some anticipation, but when we arrived we realised it was more of a smallish bar than a meat lovers restaurant.

Glass of shiraz

The menu has several gluten-free options. We ordered the milk-fed lamb skewers, with saltbush and yoghurt, the spit-roast special (it was pork on the day) and charred broccoli, almonds & lime as a side. The lot came with crunchy salty complimentary chips that were perfect to round the meal off.

Milk-fed lamb, saltbush, yoghurt

Milk-fed lamb skewers, saltbush, yoghurt ($12)

Spit-roast pork

Spit-roast pork ($24?)

Charred broccoli, almonds & lime

Charred broccoli, almonds & lime ($9)

Complimentary chips

Everything was nice in flavour, but not great. Portions are on the small size (good for the price, IMO) and the wine selection seems solid.
