Review: Little Vietnamese Food (Sydney CBD)

Last time I had lunch with my friend Sebastian was at Little Vietnamese Food. I must admit this place wasn’t even in my radar in part because of the name, in part because of the location (Wynyard tunnel, opposite the golden arches). But I generally trust Sebastian when it comes to Asian food and this is where he comes when he wants a particular Vietnamese salad.

This shop is not different from the rest of takeaway joints in the area, except that there’s a white man (the owner, we presume) preparing pork rolls (apparently, the best selling item in the menu).

We both ordered my friend’s go-to dish: the chicken cabbage salad. He ordered it with extra chilli on top.

The salad was great. Very fresh, tasty and filling compared to similar salads. Good dressing, too.

I also ordered a serve of pork & prawn rice paper rolls to give them a shot. They were skinny on the meat and veggies for my taste.

  1. Interesting post, thanks! I love Vietnamese food, i love the freshness, spice and abundant use of herbs. The chicken salad looks great, will have to give it a try next time I’m in the area.
