Food for thought: Limitations

I had a bad workout today. Much like a bad hair day, these come and go but today’s was especially bad. It made me think: what is the source of my limitations? Is it strength? Age? Genes? Food? Muscle fibre type? Or is it just a mental trip?

We had a wonderful meal at Grill’d today (thanks Ellen!) and were talking about tennis with Adam, who is the #1 Australian wheelchair tennis player. He reckons the psychological aspect is what makes the biggest difference between players. And I totally agree.

Knowing that is the first easy step. The rest is a slow, long battle against all those mental habits that tell you you’re too fat, to unfit, too slow. Also, if you have kids around, never tell them those things. They stick for longer than you think.
